Hi, I’m Christella — a 27-year-old woman from Burundi, proud to be part of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. I lost most of my hearing around the age of 8 or 9, and I’ve relied on lip reading ever since. Growing up in a world that didn’t always understand or include me wasn’t easy. I’ve experienced rejection, isolation, and moments where I felt invisible. But those experiences made me stronger.

I’ve learned to adapt, to speak with my eyes, to connect deeply even in silence. Being hard of hearing isn’t a weakness — it’s part of my identity, and it’s helped me become a more compassionate, thoughtful, and resilient person. I’ve been a leader in my local community, supporting others, volunteering, and never giving up on love or hope.

I’m here because I want to meet someone who understands what it means to be Deaf or hard of hearing — someone who values real connection beyond just sound. Whether it’s friendship, love, or a future together, I believe we deserve relationships built on respect, patience, and kindness.
