My journey with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community isn't just about communication; it's about navigating a world that often overlooks visual language. Growing up in a hearing family, I felt isolated until I found my true home in Deaf culture and ASL. The vibrant, tactile, and expressive nature of signing allowed me to fully express my personality and thoughts, changing my silence into a roaring passion for connection.
I learned early that while technology can assist hearing, it cannot replace the profound, direct connection found in spaces where visual communication is prioritized, such as Deaf-centric spaces. I now focus on advocacy, bridging communication gaps, and building community by sharing my story to help others feel seen and heard. I believe in the power of 'Deaf Space,' where we can be free to be ourselves without barriers. My passion is to turn every social gathering into a visually accessible, welcoming environment where authentic, rich conversation flourishes.
