I am a hearing impaired individual seeking hearing or non-hearing male I have hearing aids but since they do not render natural sound, I have learned to also work without them since 5 yrs old. I lip read naturally- as I don't even realize I am doing it. People just take me for a very intense listener. Which is true- I do not wish to miss anything they might say. In some ways I am limited with my hearing- I have a sensorineural loss in both ears so I know certain tones, sounds, I am unable to hear. At the same time I have grown use to the quiet life and the only times having a hearing problem is frustrating is when people mumble- talk low- or do not look at me when speaking. I guess we should not assume that the general public have awareness of the HOH and DEAF- but it would be nice if they did. I am open to meeting anyone who is a communicator- regardless of what method they use to express their feelings and thoughts.
