When I was an EMT, I stumbled into new world where lot of hearings has strange ideas about us deafies.
This old lady asked me if I am deaf, I kindly replied saying, "Yes I'm deaf."
She asked me how did I understand her. I told her, " Oh I read lips"
She looked shocked and started feeling her lips....then she asked me this, " You...you..mean there's letters on my lips?!"
My answer was, " Well... it's a secret ability that only deaf people have access to"
